Welcome to iseroma.com’s new design

December 3rd, 2009

After two years, iseroma.com gets a new look today. I hope that you like the redesign: brighter, cleaner, happier.

Besides looking good, the new design is geared to encourage more students and families to interact with the site. I’m hoping that students, especially my advisees, will post original content and that everyone will feel free to interact with each other and write comments.

Go ahead! Find a post and then write a comment!

The redesign is only one of the ways I’m hoping to improve iseroma.com. There will also be more improvements over Winter Break. If you have ideas about how to improve iseroma.com, please leave a comment!

Check out another new feature: iseroma live!

September 15th, 2009

To succeed in school, what you do outside of class is probably as important as what you do inside of class.

That’s why iseroma.com now has iseroma live!

iseroma live is a place where you can chat with me and your friends about homework, projects, and anything else Isero-related.

You can chat anytime. Just click on the “Live” page above. Tune in on Tuesdays from 8 to 9 p.m. if you also want to use iseroma live as your way to do your office hours!

WS: Get ready for the essay!

February 11th, 2009

Next class, you’ll have an in-class essay. The prompt is: “Why did Russia become a communist nation, and was that a good choice?”

Prepare for your essay by completing the prep sheet you got in class. Then, practice writing the whole essay at home so you feel comfortable.

Some of you need more evidence. Here are the “Daily Life Under Stalin” readings for you.

Use Google Docs Offline!

December 6th, 2008

Some students say they like Google Docs but their Internet doesn’t always work at home.

Well, you can use Google Docs even without the Internet. This means that you can work on a document offline and sync it when the Internet works again.

If you have a laptop, this means you can work anywhere.

Watch this video (where you can access YouTube) to find out how.
