New unit in English 10! The new Book Club unit is all about four things:
I’m happy so many of you are looking forward to this unit. Now it’s time to get serious, help each other, be accountable, and stay on top of things.
If you lose a handout, check out the English 10 page. Here is another copy of the BookNotes Unit Overview & Project Sheet, which we did today in class. It also has a calendar of what we’re doing each day.
Well, it’s happened: Isero is giving you an extension. (Crazy, right?) You’ve been working hard on your research essays, and I want them to be really good, so here are the new due dates.
Now take advantage.
Get ready to write a research paper! That’s because our new unit is about research. You get to choose your topic. Make sure to work hard. Here’s an extra copy of the materials just in case: English 10 Research Unit.
Hey everyone. This week’s extra credit is to link as many classes as you can to your primary ID at www.mygradebook.com. It’s 10 points for every class you link. To earn your points, come to office hours on Thursday at lunch and show me your linked account. Good luck!
Well, the historic day is here: Barack Obama’s inauguration. To commemorate the day, it’s time for some extra credit.
For 20 points (due Friday, Jan. 23):
(1) Print out Obama’s inaugural address and mark it up. (Use the markings we’ve learned this year.)
(2) Choose another president’s inaugural address here, print it out, and mark it up.
(3) Type a 1-2 page comparison between the speeches in content and rhetoric. Send it to me via Google Docs.
