DeAndre: LIFE in a paragraph

My life has its ups and down, but really, who doesn’t?  School is my main priority, but it all went downhill when my lips first touched that blunt.

Weed has become a big part of my life, and I haven’t been able to control my thinking around it. During sophomore year, it was all about weed. I smoked before I came to school. When lunch came around, I would skip to go smoke with the homies, and after school, I would travel to the spot where it all went down.

It is believed that weed is a gateway drug, and I have tried a lot of drugs, like shrooms, pills, crack/cocaine, and more, but they can’t compare to marijuana, so I will never try the harder drugs again. Though I believe that it isn’t a bad drug, it has shown itself through my academics because my grades started to plummet.

I’m really grateful that Leadership let me become a senior. Weed has got ahold of me, and it’s not letting go because the feeling is wonderful. If you haven’t tried weed, you don’t know what you’re missing. All the stuff you’ve been told was wrong. I’m not advertising that you should go and do it, but if you ever choose to try it, don’t let it get ahold of you like it did me.

I’m still in the process to balance drugs with school because one day my life will flash before my eyes, and I want to make sure it’s worth watching.
